As expressed in the strategic plan of the University of Naples “Federico II” the PhD is aimed at graduates who intend, after graduation, to receive research training in the study and application of scientific methodologies.
The PhD in Mind Gender and Language is developed as an interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral educational project and includes three research areas.

The first one deepens the interdisciplinary study of the human mind, psychological processes, affective, cognitive and relational development, well-being, training and education, integrating different research approaches and methodologies.

The second one offers an interdisciplinary study of the dimensions of gender in the various social interrelationships to promote gender cultures and equal opportunities in different areas, and intervention research pathways aimed at innovation, active citizenship, empowerment, participation. The gender dimension is regarded as a qualifying element in the study of the mind and languages, creating connections between different sectors.

The third one focuses on an aspect of the cognitive system, language, which is explored in its semantic, pragmatic, psycholinguistic, sociolinguistic, and cultural aspects, with particular regard to language learning, discourse analysis and specialized languages and examined in its different dimensions and levels of analysis.
